Foundation of Industrial Power Support

KCE began as a division under the Planning Directorate of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk to support electricity needs within the integrated steel industrial area. At that time, PT KS built a 400 MW Steam Power Plant (PLTU).

Journey Image 0

Transition to an Autonomous Power Unit

The 400 MW PLTU Division changed its status to the Autonomous Unit of 400 MW PLTU PT KS, following the Decree of the PT KS Board of Directors Number 37/C/DUKSIKpts/1995.

Journey Image 1

Establishment as an Independent Energy Entity

The 400 MW PLTU Autonomous Unit was upgraded into an Independent Business Entity under the name PT Krakatau Daya Listrik, as part of PT KS’s restructuring of all autonomous units.

Journey Image 2

Strengthening Energy Reliability with CCPP Development

To ensure energy reliability in the Krakatau Industrial Estate, KCE developed a 120 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP/PLTGU), which began operating in April 2015. Since then, the 400 MW PLTU has been decommissioned.

Journey Image 3

Entering the Renewable Energy Era

As part of its energy transition efforts, KCE built and operated a 102 kWp Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) connected to the KCE electricity grid.

Journey Image 4

Expanding Solutions for a Sustainable Energy Future

KCE continues to expand its business by offering EPC, O&M, transformer, and electric motor solutions, while also developing new and renewable energy initiatives to support Indonesia’s national energy transition.
